One man was preparing for Sunday’s playoff game by supporting his favorite team, but his effort put him in jail. The Cowboys “bling tumbler” and Cowboys “fuzzy dice” had to go back to the store and the man is charged with theft.
Police went to the store at the Pilot Truck Center at 6:37 a.m. Sunday after employees called about a man stealing items. Officers stopped the man walking away near the store on Highway 62 and carrying a bag. The bag had the tumbler, fuzzy dice, four Cowboys sunglasses straps, a Cowboys key chain and a Cowboys bottle open. In addition, the bag had a ladybug key chain.
Police said 45-year-old Darryle Brown was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail for theft.

A woman from Orange told Orange police Sunday afternoon she had seven fraudulent charges on her credit card. According to the police report, the woman received her credit card statement on Saturday and noticed the charges. Neither she nor her husband had made the purchases.
She said the last time she had used the card was at a convenience store at Highway 62 and Highway 87.
During the past few months, police in Orange and Pinehurst have found illegal “skimmers” installed on outside gas pumps. The skimmers steal credit or debit card information and thieves use the information to charge items.

Friday morning a man was arrested for illegal drugs outside the Flying J Truck Stop off Interstate 10 at Highway 62. Orange police reported the store manager called about 10 a.m. to complain about a man and woman asking customers for money.
An officer stopped the man, who had on cargo pants with bulging pockets. The man told police he had a pocket knife and police took it out of the pocket. An officer noticed a plastic baggy in a pocket. According to the report, the baggy had 13 white Alprazolam pills.
35-year-old Steven Miller was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and taken to the Orange County Jail.
