A house burglar locked the family dog in a bathroom as Nike shoes and video games were stolen. A woman living at a house in the 3600 block of Hemlock Street told Orange police she left about 2:30 Monday afternoon. When she returned about three hours later, she discovered a kitchen window was open and the dog was locked in the bathroom, according to Officer Nicholas Medina.
The woman said six pairs of Air Jordan shoes, worth about $100 each, were taken, along with a Playstation 4 and an Xbox game system.
The woman told Officer Medina that a man knocked on the front door of the house at 7:45 that morning and asked if her husband was home. Before she could give an answer, the man walked away.
Orange police on Monday were also called to the 4000 block of North Eddie Street to investigate a theft from a car. A woman said she went to a house belonging to a deceased relative about 12:12 p.m. and parked her car in the driveway. She went to a neighbor’s house for about five minutes. When she returned, the door to the car was open wide and her purse was gone.
