A Vidor man was sentenced Thursday to 35 years in prison for intoxication manslaughter for killing a bicyclist on Highway 12 in October 2015.
41-year-old Ralph Bridwell of Vidor appeared before 128th District Judge Courtney Arkeen to receive the sentence. He was driving a Chevrolet Camaro that hit and killed 38-year-old Raymond Lamar Ross, who was riding a bicycle.
The collision was about 10:50 at night and happened on Highway 12 in Mauriceville. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported Bridwell passed another vehicle on the right shoulder of the road where Ross was riding.
