Man Arrested With Meth-Police Reports

A Little Cypress man was arrested Sunday night after Orange police found equipment and chemicals used to make methamphetamine inside his car. They also found the drug.

Officer M.C. Bernard reported he stopped a Ford F-150 pickup truck about 11:30 Sunday night on Old Highway 90 at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The truck had been moving erratically, leading the officer to stop it.

Detective Captain Robert Enmon said officers smelled something like rotten eggs coming from the car. The odor is produced by the chemical process to make meth. After searching the truck, they found a container with glass beakers, flasks, a measuring cup and scales.

56-year-old Seth Lincoln Hawkins Sr. was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail and faces charges of possession of chemicals with intent to manufacture a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

Orange police arrested a 16-year-old for armed robbery in connection with using a gun to steal a cell phone from another teen. The street robbery was reported at 10:22 p.m. Friday in the 2400 block of 16th Street. The victim reported the robber ran southward. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the phone was recovered.

A man who was hit with a kitchen skillet last week while trying to get into a house was arrested for burglary Friday afternoon after he was found sitting in a recliner inside a house in another neighborhood. The man claimed the house belonged to him.

Police were called about 1:45 p.m. Friday to the house in the 2200 block of Westway Drive in the Clairmont subdivision. The resident had come home to find the man, who she knew, sitting in the recliner. He tried to shove the resident and her sister out of the house.

Police found a broken side window where the man had gotten inside. He told officers the house belonged to him. Officers took Larry Anthony Nickerson to the Orange County Jail and he faces a charge of burglary. Police listed him as a transient.

In the early morning of April 24, a resident in the Navy Park neighborhood called police to report that a man got inside his garage and was sitting inside his car. He identified himself at the time as “God.” The man tried to get inside the house, but the resident got a skillet and hit him in the face.

Dickerson was stopped walking down the street arrested for criminal trespassing.

A 40-year-old woman suffered minor injuries early Saturday morning when she was pushed out of a moving car on Park Avenue. Orange police were called to the Neighbors Emergency Center at 2:40 a.m. Saturday after the woman went there for medical treatment.

Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the woman was with a man she knows and they had been gambling in Louisiana. On the way home, they got into an argument in the car. After traveling back to Orange and driving on Park, he pushed her out. She had minor facial injuries.

Two garage doors in the Oak Creek Village subdivision were spray-painted with an obscene drawing sometime Friday night. The damage was reported to Orange police Saturday morning.

The first was reported in the 2300 block of International Drive and the second in the 4800 block of Oak Valley Drive. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said officers are gathering home surveillance video from the neighborhood.
