The Pinehurst City Council re-appointed City Administrator Robbie Hood on Tuesday night.  Hood was selected as the Pinehurst City Administrator in 2015 replacing the retiring Joe Parkhurst.

City Councilwoman Sarah McLendon voiced the thoughts of the entire City Council with her appreciation of the work being done by Hood.  “I’m very excited that you were reappointed and you’re looking after all of our employees and residents, everybody in the city is happy with you, most of all us, we appreciate you.” McLendon praised Hood.

Hood humbly accepted the thanks from the council members and reminded them of where his background in civil service began years ago.  Before coming to Pinehurst, he worked in several different cities starting in the waste water department at the lowest level.  Hood admitted, “Working from the ground up you don’t ever forget where you came from, and that’s why I appreciate the employees that I have because I’m only as good as they are.”

Earlier in the meeting McLendon was sworn in for a second term on the City Council along with Dan Mohon and T. W. Permenter.  All three faced no opposition and Pinehurst canceled its municipal election.

In other business the council met in a closed session with City Attorney Tommy Gunn to discuss the contract with the accounting firm of Sandersen and Scheffer.  Later the council members voted in open session to terminate the contract with Sandersen and Scheffer to perform the city audit for 2016.  The accounting firm has not produced the audit to date.
