At approximately 2:15p.m. Wednesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a motor vehicle crash on the Rainbow Bridge in Orange County.
Initial reports indicate that a Kia Sedona van was traveling southbound on Highway 73 (Rainbow Bridge) followed by a Pontiac passenger vehicle. Both the Kia and Pontiac began to slow down due to traffic congestion. The driver of a concrete dump truck failed to control his speed and rear-ended the Pontiac. The impact of the collision caused the Pontiac to rear-end the Kia van.
There were no injuries sustained in this crash.
The driver of the concrete dump truck, Charles Pickering, 28, of Groves, was issued a traffic citation for failure to control speed.
