Orange Police Reports

A midnight ride by a two 14-year-old girls in Grandma’s SUV ended with a crash into neighbor’s house. Orange police reported the girls were not injured in the accident. The driver was given a citation for driving at an unsafe speed.

Orange police were called to 1420 Beagle Road at 12:25 a.m. Sunday when a Chevrolet Equinox hit the house. Police said the driver took her grandmother’s SUV and went for a drive with a friend. As the vehicle was making a left turn onto Quail Road, the driver lost control. The SUV left the roadway, went into the yard and hit the house.

A wrong-way driver caused a crash at 4 Friday afternoon that sent a car into the metal fence at the West Orange-Cove CISD administration building,  902 W. Park Avenue.

Police said an Infinity sedan driven by 20-year-old Adriana Torres of Port Arthur was traveling the wrong way in the 1000 block of Eighth Street. A Toyota Corolla driven by 43-year-old Matthew Peterson of Orange was traveling westbound in the 900 block of Park. The Infinity hit the Toyota and the impact sent the Infinity into the fence.

Police reported Peterson had minor injuries and went by vehicle to a local emergency clinic. Torres was cited for driving the wrong way on a one-way street and driving with an invalid driver’s license.

A 32-year-old woman from Orange had to be taken by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont at 10:30 Friday morning after a collision on 16th Street at Green Avenue.

Police reported Amber Dawn McKinney had non-incapacitating injuries when she went to the hospital. Four people, including two young children, in an SUV had minor injuries.

Police said McKinney was driving a Cadillac CTS southbound in the 200 block of 16th Street. A GMC Acadia, also traveling southbound, was stopped to turn into a business. The Cadillac ran into the back of the GMC. McKinney was given a ticket for failure to control speed.

Orange police during the weekend investigated a house burglary that was reported at 10:42 Saturday morning in the 1600 block of 14th Street. The burglar got inside through a side window and damaged burglar bars. Assorted change was reported stolen.
