Hurricane Harvey is expected to make landfall near Rockport, Texas as a category 3 hurricane later tonight. Orange County continues to prepare for extended rain and possible flooding that may last for several days.
Officials will continue to monitor the situation with input from national and state organizations and will provide updates through the local news media outlets as new developments occur.
Orange County residents are encouraged to closely monitor the situation by visiting the National Weather Center or the National Hurricane Center online at http://www.weather.gov/srh/ and http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/news/AL092017_key_messages.png
Orange County Officials have NOT called for an evacuation nor issued a disaster declaration at this time.
Orange County offices will be closed Monday, August 28th with the exception of Emergency Management, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Jail.
There are no Orange County public school closures at this time.
