Effective Monday, November 6, Orange County has a new Emergency Management Coordinator. County Judge Brint Carlton has appointed a former county employee Ralph Valenciano as the new head of the Emergency Management Department.
Carlton indicated Valenciano worked for Orange County several years ago in Emergency Management before moving into the private sector. He has a strong career history in the field as a first responder according to the judge.
Valenciano replaces Missy Pillsbury who was transferred from the Emergency Management Department last week when the Airport Coordinator and Risk Management offices she oversees were moved out of that department. Valenciano is the fifth director of the Emergency Management Department for Orange County since Judge Carlton took office in 2015.
