A Tiger Cat riding mower has been stolen from outside Child’s Ace Hardware, a store owned by Orange City Councilman Brad Childs. The mower was at the store for repairs and, according to the report from Orange police, belongs to businessman Mike Manshack.

Childs called police Monday afternoon to his store at 3714 North 16th Street. The Scag 61-inch Tiger Cat had been parked on the south side of the store. On his Facebook page, Childs said the mower costs $8,500 new. It had been brought to the store for a repair and will not work properly without the repair

Anyone with information about the mower can called Child’s Ace Hardware at 409-886-4600, or Orange police at 409-883-1026.

A resident in the 6400 block of Chasse Knoll in the Little Cypress area reported items missing after two workers had completed work at the house. The homeowner called Orange police about 3:30 p.m. Monday after discovering the theft.

Monday night about 11, a resident in the 1300 block of Orange Avenue in the Old Orange Historic District reported a car burglary.
