The Orange City Council will be dealing with the budget for 2018-19 during three special called meetings next week.

City Manager Dr. Shawn Oubre will present the proposed budget to the council during a meeting at 10:45 a.m. in the council auditorium next to the Orange Public Library.

The city’s economic development corporation board of directors will have a special meeting afterward at 11 a.m. The board will go into a closed-door executive session to discuss a proposed real estate development. After the closed meeting, the board has the option to vote on a possible deal, or the board could take no action.

The city council will then meet again at 9 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, in the Danny Gray Room of the police station, 201 Eighth Street, to discuss the proposed budget and recommend changes. Another special meeting to discuss the budget will be Thursday, August 9, at 2 p.m. in the Danny Gray Room.

After the budget discussion at the Tuesday and Thursday meetings, the agenda calls for the council to go into closed-door executive session to discuss contract negotiations with the Orange Municipal Police Association.
