A 37-year-old man from Orange suffered a broken arm and a severe cut to his head after being beaten with a wooden stick.
Orange Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man was attacked at a house. Police were called at 11:57 p.m. Wednesday to meet the man at the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of 16th Street. Enmon said a woman who was at the house helped the victim get to the parking lot to call for help.
The woman was inside the house at the time of the attack, but did not see it. Enmon said the victim knew the man who hit him with the “large wooden stick.” The victim was taken to an area hospital, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The attack is being investigated as an aggravated assault with a weapon. No arrests have been made.
