Longtime Orange City Manager Dr. Shawn Oubre has been offered the same position with the city of Woodway, Texas following an interview on Friday.
Woodway is a town of 8900 located southwest of Waco.
Oubre was one of three finalists for the job after more than 50 applied according to the Waco Tribune. Council voted 7-0 to offer Oubre the position.
Oubre has been the city manager in Orange for the last 13 years, coming over from Vidor. It’s the longest anyone has held that position in the city. He has told KOGT he will accept the position and has up to thirty days to make the move.
The Tribune said Oubre would be replacing Yost Zakhary, who resigned after 39 years as City Manager.
