The latest weather prediction map shows wintry mix chances are a little more to the north than originally forecast.
The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is monitoring a cold front that is forecast to come through our region late Monday. NWS Meteorologist Roger Erickson says that behind this front, there is a chance the lingering precipitation will briefly turn into a rain/snow mix early Tuesday morning. In general, the higher threat will be the further north you go, in east Texas and central Louisiana for some light accumulations. However, don’t be surprised to see snow as far south as the I-10 corridor of southeast Texas and southwest and south central Louisiana. This system has the potential to be a problem for elevated roads and bridges.
