A host of baseball players and a couple of Bobcat golfers have been named to the Texas High School Coaches Association All-Academic Team.
The THSCA Academic All-State Teams recognize high school athletes who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score. The students below are being recognized as a team member based on their scores in these categories. We applaud them for their commitment and dedication to perform with the highest of excellence academically and on the field.
Orangefield’s pitcher/1B Landen Tomlinson is our first to be recognized because he is one of the few members to earn ELITE status, meaning he is at the top of every category.
Deweyville pitcher Caden Browning is a First Team member of the THSCA State Academic Team.
Making the Second Team includes Johnny Armstrong and Gus Longron of Orangefield, and Bobcat golfer Logan Risinger who is also leading his team to the State Golf Tournament in a couple of weeks.
Honorable Mention selections include Bridge City’s Ryan Ellis, Trevor Kimbell, Gavin Green and Cory Westlund. From Orangefield, Blake Bradley and OF golfer Emmi Lummus.
Congrats to all of our student athletes who made the team!
