Two people were seriously injured in a head-on crash on DuPont Drive as first responders had to extricate both drivers from the vehicles.
Orange police report 43-year-old Luz Maria Figueroa of Port Arthur was taken to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. 23-year-old Tiffany Renee Bryan of Orange was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Both had incapacitating injuries.
The crash was reported at 6 a.m. on Sunday, June 30 in the 2200 block of DuPont Drive. Police said Figueroa was driving a 2002 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck eastbound on the road. The Tacoma veered into the westbound lane.
The driver’s side front of the pickup truck hit the driver’s side front of the 2006 Dodge Caravan minivan that Bryan was driving westbound, according to the police report.
Figueroa was given citations for failure to maintain a single lane and expired driver’s license.
