Lark Street in Pinehurst is getting new sewers and the project is nearing completion. Simco Enterprises was awarded the contract for the sewer project under a grant from the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Pinehurst City Administrator Robbie Hood said there will be funds of about $50,000 from that grant that will be used to extend the scope of the sewer improvement project. Hood stated that he will be meeting with Waxman and Associates the city’s grant administrator and Schaumburg and Polk the engineers on the current project to discuss including adding work around the city park on Lark which will be about 1500 more feet of sewer.
Hood concludes that when the sewer work is completed the contractor will overlay with asphalt all of Lark Street, and Pinehurst will have new sewers and basically a new street for that whole area. Mike Anderson on the Pinehurst City Council indicated residents on Lark Street greatly appreciate the work being done.
Anderson lives on Lark and said the sewer repairs were much needed in that neighborhood. He is so proud of that improvement project being completed with the addition of a new road surface on Lark.
