A Gretna, Louisiana, man was injured Monday after his car went off the roadway, hit a utility pole, a fence, and a gate, and then rolled over.
The crash was about 12:30 p.m. on Highway 87 South near FM 105. Orange police report the driver was 23-year-old Nelfry Benzan Crucey and he was driving a Hyundai Sonata. Though he was injured, he refused to be taken to a hospital. The Orange Fire Department checked him at the scene, police said.
Three people were taken by ambulances to Beaumont hospitals after a three-car collision early Sunday morning on 16th Street at Interstate 10. Police gave a ticket to one driver for failure to control speed because his car hit the back of a sedan stopping at the traffic light. That sedan then hit a stopped Mini Cooper.
The crash was at 12:16 a.m. Police said the Mini Cooper driven by Iva Kay Odom of Orange was southbound on 16th Street and was stopped in the inside lane at the light.
A Hyundai Equus driven by 36-year-old Ursula Nicole Shilo of Orange was stopped behind the Mini Cooper. 37-year-old Jermeca Shantel Williams was a passenger in the Equus.
Police said a Chevrolet Malibu driven by 35-year-old Justin Glynn Richard of Orange hit the back of the Equus, which then hit the Mini Cooper.
Acadian Ambulance took Shilo and Williams to Baptist Hospital. Odom went by Acadian to St. Elizabeth. Police classified their injuries as not serious. Richard was not injured.
