Orange police report a woman sprayed a man with mace or pepper spray when he answered his door Friday afternoon.
The man was not seriously injured, but police said the woman kicked the door and damaged it. Officers went to the 400 block of Dewey Avenue at 2:30 p.m.
The 36-year-old man said he had been upstairs and heard a knock on the door. As he went downstairs, he called out and the woman, who he knows, replied.
The man said he tried to lock the door, but the woman put her foot inside to stop it from closing. That’s when she sprayed him and then kicked the door.
Police reported finding an orange substance from the spray on the man’s shirt and on the top of the door frame.

A woman complained to police Saturday morning that a man kept setting off her vehicle alarm to disturb her. She said told police she had video of the person. Police went to the house on Childers Drive about 8:15 a.m. and advised her to file Class C misdemeanor charges against the man.

A woman whose driver’s license is suspended because of medical conditions, ran the Interstate 10 feeder road and hit a tree Friday. The accident was at 11:40 a.m. in the 2900 block of Lutcher Drive South. Police report the 26-year-old woman from Orange was traveling eastbound in a Buick Regal when she went off the traffic lane. Her injuries were reported as minor and her father drove her away from the scene.

An 83-year-old woman from Orange was taken by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital Friday after a crash at the intersection of 16th Street and Burton Avenue. Police report the driver of the SUV that hit the woman’s vehicle was given a ticket for running a red traffic light.
The crash was at 10:10 Friday morning. Police said the woman was driving a Buick Enclave westbound on Burton. When the vehicle was crossing the intersection, a Lincoln Navigator travelin southbound on 16th hit the Enclave.
Police classified the woman’s injuries as minor. She was taken by Acadian Ambulance to Baptist Hospital. The 55-year-old driver of the Navigator, along with his 48-year-old woman passenger, were not injured.
