A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Wednesday night arrested a 42-year-old Huntsville man after a chase through Orange, West Orange, and Pinehurst.
DPS Sergeant Stephanie Davis said Timothy Scott Jordan was arrested after his pickup truck went off into a grassy area and became disabled. He was wanted on a parole violation warrant from Huntsville. He is also facing an Orange County charge of evading arrest and is currently in the Orange County Jail.
The chase was about 10:20 p.m. and started on FM 105 near State Highway 87 South. The trooper was on routine patrol and saw the driver of a 2007 white Chevrolet pickup truck make a traffic violation.
The trooper turned on emergency lights to make a traffic stop, but the pickup continued going and the chase was on.
Orange Police Captain Robert Enmon said OPD joined the chase near Edgar Brown Drive (Highway 87 South) and Bluebonnet Street by Walmart.
He said the chase went onto South Street in West Orange to Main Avenue in Orange, then to MacArthur Drive. The chase went through parking lots at Walmart and Golden Triangle Emergency Center. From there, it went onto Strickland Drive and through Pinehurst, including Snake Road.
The chase ended when the pickup got stuck in grass and mud at the Family Dollar Store on Strickland Drive in Pinehurst.
Pinehurst Police Chief Fred Hanauer said that city’s night officer was apparently on another call at the time and did not participate in the chase.
