A helicopter, tracking dogs, and several law agencies Tuesday evening searched through the North Tram Road area outside Vidor for four burglary suspects who ran from their car after being followed by a Beaumont police vehicle.
After a couple of hours, the Vidor Police Department posted on Facebook that officers think the men were picked up by another vehicle and left the area. The post described the men as non-violent.
The men are suspects in a Tuesday morning ATM burglary in Georgia. The men are believed to be from the Houston area. The Beaumont Police Department had a unit watching for the suspects.
The suspects noticed the police vehicle and the abandoned their car. The four ran off in the 1800 block of North Tram Road.
The searchers included the Vidor, Beaumont, and Houston police departments along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
