Next December if people gather at the river, they won’t have to stand in a 15 mph north wind with a 38 degree chill temperature like it was Tuesday. Orange’s Riverside Pavilion will offer a covered place for groups. On Wednesday, chamber, county, city, foundation, and college officials had a ground-breaking ceremony for the $700,000 pavilion. The pavilion is being paid through bonds the city of Orange sold earlier this year. Officials hope construction will be finished in time for the Bassmasters Elite tournament here at the end of May.
