Holy Week ended up hectic for Orange police as they investigated a stabbing, two shootings, and a choking attack. None of the victims had life-threatening injuries. Three of the assaults involved people the victims know.

Also, Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the city has had several car burglaries reported from different sections of town. In all cases, the owners of the vehicles had left a door unlocked.

Enmon said the most seriously injured in the assaults was a 47-year-old man who was stabbed Sunday at a house in the 2400 block of McKee Drive. The man was first taken to Exceptional Emergency Center on 16th Street and the transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. The suspect in the attack is a relative.

About 7:30 p.m. Saturday, a 30-year-old man was shot in the leg in the 400 block of Burton Avenue. He was taken by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.

Another shooting was about 10 Thursday night outside the Alexander Homes apartments on Fourth Street. Captain Enmon said a 24-year-old woman told officers she was standing outside talking to someone when she heard a gunshot.

The woman suddenly felt a pain in her foot. When she looked down, her foot was bleeding. Police report the injury was from a small caliber weapon. She was taken to Exceptional Emergency Center for treatment.

In addition, a woman told police Saturday her boyfriend choked her into unconsciousness at a house in the 3000 block of 18th Street. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. The Texas Penal Code makes any domestic assault a felony if it involves choking.
