A collision at 16th Street and Sunset Drive at 4 p.m. Monday sent two people to the local hospital emergency room.
Orange police report that a Honda Civic driven by 16-year-old Hailey Nicole Bishop of Vidor was driving southbound in the outside lane of 16th Street. A Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck driven by 82-year-old Thomas Penn Johnson of Orange was on Sunset Drive.
Police report the pickup truck had a green light and was turning left onto northbound 16th Street when the two vehicles collided. According to police, two Orange County Sheriff’s employees were witnesses. Bishop was given a ticket for failure to stop at the traffic light.
Acadian Ambulance took the drivers in separate units to the Baptist Hospital Orange Emergency Room with non-incapacitating injuries, police reported.
