Smash and grab thieves drove a stolen pickup truck into a convenience store early Tuesday morning and stole an ATM.
Orange police report the Shell store at 1955 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at the corner with Old Highway 90 was robbed about 2:40 this morning.
Police said the thieves were in two pickup trucks stolen in Orange. One crashed into the building and several people ran inside to steal the ATM machine, which was not bolted to the floor. They drove off in two trucks.
The white Ford F250 used in the theft was later found abandoned on 40th Street in Pinehurst.
Police are currently looking for a red Dodge Ram 1500 truck with the license number ‘DHP 5784.’ Anyone with information about the theft or who has seen the truck should contact the Orange Police Department at 409-883-1026.
