The Orange police and fire departments teamed up Sunday evening to get two young, small dogs out of a locked abandoned car.
Police reported the car was found at 401 North 16th Street at 6:55 p.m. The address is the strip center at the corner of 16th Street and Green Avenue.
The fire department got the dogs out of the car and they are now at the Orange Animal Shelter on Simmons Drive.
Animal control officer Andy Borel described them as a mixed terrier breed. The shelter will keep them for three days before putting them up for adoption.
