The West Orange City Council met without Mayor Roy McDonald or City Secretary Theresa Van Meter on Monday. Shirley Bonnin chaired the meeting as Mayor Pro Tempore, and Ramona Block served in Van Meter’s place during the meeting. The City Council approved casting all 24 of its votes for Hughie Allen to serve on the Orange County Appraisal District Board of Directors. The quarterly and annual investment reports for West Orange were received by the Council. Michael Simon and Joe Major were both accepted as new members of the West Orange Volunteer Fire Department. The annual Holiday in the Park is less than two weeks away, and Mayor Pro Tempore Bonnin was excited to announce all the booths for the event have been sold. Bonnin is hoping for good weather during the event and looks forward to seeing everyone at the Holiday in the Park which will be Saturday, November 7, in the park adjacent to the West Orange Community Center on Western Avenue.
