OPD Looking For Assistance

Orange police are looking for a man who fired a pistol shot into the Honey Stop convenience store Sunday night. No one was hurt.

Detective Captain Robert Enmon said a black man wearing a black mask and black clothing opened the door at the store, fired the shot then ran out. The shooting was about 10:15 Sunday night. The store is at 1011 West Park Avenue at 10th Street. The man was seen running northbound on 10th Street. Anyone with information about the masked man should call the Orange Police Department at 409-883-1026.

 

Bursey, CassyA West Orange woman was arrested Saturday morning on a number of drug charges along with evading arrest.

Orange Police Patrol Officer L.A. Lovelace reported he was called at 11:08 a.m. to investigate a vehicle collision on private property at a doughnut shop in the 1600 block of 16th Street. The car accused of hitting another vehicle left northbound on 16th Street.

Officer Lovelace said he picked up the red Nissan at the intersection of 16th Street and Green Avenue. The vehicle ran through a stop sign and did not stop for his flashing lights. He followed onto west Main Street into West Orange and South Street. The vehicle still would not stop, even when the officer turned on sirens. Officer Lovelace said the Nissan turned into a private driveway and stopped.

After receiving permission to search the vehicle, police found a bag of Zombie Mario and AK47, both synthetic marijuana, plus two baggies of marijuana weighing a total of 0.115 ounce. In addition, police recovered 33 pills of Clonazepan and 10 pills of an amphetamine.

Cassie Michille Bursey was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail. She faces charges of possession of marijuana, possession of a dangerous drug, evading arrest in a vehicle, no driver’s license and no insurance.

 

Sanchez, SamuelOrange police are asking the public’s help investigating the stabbing that happened at the Orange Boat Ramp Saturday evening. The boat ramp was crowded when a 50-year-old Bridge City man was cut on the face and had a one-and-a-half inch deep puncture to the neck. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said police would like to get copies of any video spectators may have taken during the argument.

34-year-old Samuel Cecil Sanchez III of Mauriceville was arrested at the scene for aggravated assault. His bond was set at $25,000.

Police dispatchers sent patrol officers to the boat ramp at 6:36 p.m. Saturday after seeing a disturbance on city surveillance cameras. While in route, officers learned a knife had been pulled.

Lieutenant J.E. Davis said two men were pulling boats up and got into an argument. One man was pushed to the ground and when he tried to get up, the other man pulled a knife.

50-year-old Brian Gordy of Bridge City was taken by ambulance to Baptist Hospital Orange Emergency Room where he was treated and released.
