A 45-year-old Michigan man walking along an Interstate 10 service road near Cow Bayou was killed Tuesday night after being hit by an SUV.
The death is the third interstate service road pedestrian fatality within four days in Orange County.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said the man was walking on the eastbound service road at Exit 867 near Cow Bayou. The site is opposite of Claiborne West Park. A Ford SUV was exiting the interstate about 8:30 p.m. and struck the pedestrian.
The driver of the SUV was a 78-year-old man from Orange. Sergeant Stephanie Davis said the man and his passenger were not injured.
DPS will not release the name of the victim until the next of kin is notified.
Orange police said a 29-year-old Louisiana woman was killed sometime Friday night as she walked along an Interstate 10 eastbound service road near 23rd Street. Her body was seen by a motorist Saturday morning. Police are looking for the vehicle that hit her.
Sunday night, a 44-year-old Ohio man was hit and killed by a car on the westbound interstate service road near Tractor Supply store in Orange. The driver stopped.
