On Friday, October 14, 2016, at 8:16 pm, officers with the City of Orange Police Department were dispatched to 2609 8th Street, in reference to a disturbance involving a victim with a gun shot wound to the head.
Orange Police say officers located a white male inside the residence. He was identified as 46 years-of-age Marvin Cordell Cooper Jr of Orange. Cooper was transported to the local emergency room by Acadian Ambulance for medical treatment. Cooper was later transported to the Trauma Center at St. Elizabeth Hospital by Acadian Ambulance where he later died from his injuries.
Officers said no arrests have been made at the time of their press release and no other information was provided.
