A Little Cypress-Mauriceville school bus carrying high school students was involved in a one vehicle accident Monday afternoon. No one on the bus was injured. Most students were moved to a second bus for the trip home. A few others had parents pick them up at the site.
According to the district, the bus was on Bilbo Road, a very narrow street, and the driver moved toward the shoulder as a truck approached from the opposite direction. In the wet conditions the wheels began sliding in the mud and when the driver corrected to keep the bus on the road, it ended up straddling the road. The bus driver did not receive a citation.
