A girl student at Little Cypress Junior High was hit by a pickup truck on FM 1130 a little before 4 Monday afternoon.
The student was taken by Acadian Ambulance to a Beaumont hospital. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. She was reported to have contusions on her head.
The school has sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. The junior high is across the street from the LC-M CISD administration building and Superintendent Dr. Pauline Hargrove walked to the scene. Orange Police Chief Lane Martin and Major Wade Robinson also came.
The pickup driver, who had been traveling northbound, immediately stopped. The Orange Fire Department responded until the ambulance arrived.
