Get ready for major traffic changes on 16th Street at the Interstate 10 overpass. The Texas Department of Transportation will close the interstate overpass and the 16th Street traffic underneath this upcoming weekend beginning at 7 p.m. Friday.
Eastbound Interstate traffic will be diverted to the feeder roads. Sixteenth Street (also known as Highway 87) will be closed at the overpass. Northbound and southbound traffic on 16th Street must find alternative routes.
TxDOT says 16th Street at I-10 should reopen Monday morning, April 3.
The changes are part of the construction of a new overpass.
