Friday was the deadline set by both West Orange and Pinehurst for receiving their municipal audits from the accounting firm of Sandersen and Scheffer. Both cities have paid the company for audits of Fiscal Year 2016, but have not received the audits.
Theresa Van Meter the City Secretary in West Orange and Mayor Roy McDonald actually went to Sugarland last week to see the accountants in person. Since then Van Meter has received some numbers from the accounting firm in emails and those numbers do match her paperwork’s totals, but still no audit has been received at the City Hall in West Orange.
Pinehurst City Secretary Debbie Cormier has exchanged emails since the last city council meeting in Pinehurst and sent additional financial documents to Sandersen and Scheffer last week. She has heard nothing since. Robbie Hood the City Administrator for Pinehurst said previously if the city’s audit is not received by the last day of March the city will ask for a complete refund of money paid to Sandersen and Scheffer for the audit.
