Four people were injured, one seriously, during a crash Friday night on Highway 62 at FM 105. Orange police reported a Ford Expedition turned in front of a Jeep. The Jeep hit the passenger side of the Expedition.
38-year-old Laura Hernandez, a passenger in the Expedition, had incapacitating injuries. The driver of the SUV, 28-year-old Grecia Davalos, had minor injures, as did a 14-year-old passenger. The three were taken by Acadian Ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
The driver of the Jeep was 23-year-old Lauren Cherry of Buna. She was taken by Acadian to Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Police reported her injuries were minor.
Officer J.L. Goins reported the Jeep was traveling northbound on Highway 62 in the inside lane and had a green light at FM 105. The Expedition was traveling southbound on Highway 62 and started turning left toward FM 105. The Expedition had a blinking yellow light indicating to yield to oncoming traffic, according to the officer. Instead, the Expedition turned into the path of the Jeep.
