At approximately 6:15a.m. Monday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to a multiple vehicle crash on FM 1006 in Orange County.  The crash occurred in front of the DuPont plant.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 2006 Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling westbound on FM 1006.  A 2011 Suzuki motorcycle pulled out of a parking lot and turned onto FM 1006, headed westbound.  The driver of the Ford pickup truck slowed down, as he approached a vehicle that was making a right turn, when he was rear-ended by the Suzuki motorcycle.

The driver of the Suzuki motorcycle, a 20-year-old male from Orange, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.  Due to the extent of his injuries, his name will not be released until family members have been notified.  The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Ford, 39-year-old Jaycee Langston Bacon of Orange, was not injured in the crash.

Due to the crash, FM 1006 was closed for approximately an hour, but has since reopened.
