A preliminary autopsy on an 80-year-old woman whose body was found in her Lindenwood subdivision house Friday morning shows “no criminal activity” is suspected, Orange Detective Captain Robert Enmon said Wednesday.
The woman’s body was found by a neighbor in the house on Burns Circle. Police cordoned off the area and stayed at the scene for more than two hours. Unattended deaths are not uncommon, but police and the justice of the peace could not at first determine a cause of death.
Captain Enmon said the autopsy was conducted Tuesday and will not be complete until the toxicology reports are finished in a few weeks. However, no foul play was involved. He said the woman had a bump on her head and may have fallen.
Her husband had died five days earlier of an apparent heart attack while walking their small rescue dog.
