Two stolen vehicles and a burglary were reported to Orange police during the weekend and Friday.

The first was reported at 11:46 a.m. Friday from Interstate 10 at FM 1442. A Baytown man reported his green, 2001 two-door Honda Civic had been taken.  Detective Captain Robert Enmon said officers tracked the car to Happy Home Drive off Interstate 10 and east of Highway 62. Mud tracks showed the car was driven through woods at the end of Happy Home Drive into a nearby RV park and then to Womack Road. It was not recovered.

On Sunday at 11:10 a.m., police went to the 600 block of Decatur Street in the Navy Park neighborhood. A Beaumont man said he had stayed overnight with a friend. When he woke up, he discovered his pickup truck. The truck was a gold 2000 model GMC 2500. The man said he had about $4,000 worth of tools in the truck.

The burglary was reported Friday morning at a house in the 2500 block of North Eighth Street in the Brownwood neighborhood. The owner found several windows had been broken at the house and the garage. Lawn equipment was missing.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office had to call Orange police Friday night when a woman who said she was turning herself in to the jail was intoxicated. The jail would not take her when she was intoxicated and sheriff’s personnel reported she was causing a “disturbance.”

Orange police went to the jail, 205 Border Street, at 8 p.m. Friday. Officers reported the woman had a strong alcohol smell and slurred speech, along with other signs. She was arrested for Class C misdemeanor public intoxication and then booked into the jail. Captain Enmon said police information did not have why the woman was turning herself in to the jail.

A woman early Saturday morning had good news and bad news. She went to the Orange Police Department about 3 a.m. to report that her husband was missing. After completing the paperwork, she went home and a short time later called police back to say her husband was located in the Jefferson County Jail.
