Orange narcotics officers arrested a local man Tuesday afternoon for possession of a rock of crack cocaine after a traffic stop. A detective reported he and another detective saw a car in the 400 block of Park Avenue not signal a turn within 100 feet, plus the car did not come to a full stop at the stop sign. The driver of the car was reported to be nervous and shaking. One of the detectives saw a crack pipe in the car and then found a small metal container with the crack. Clifford D. Wade of Orange was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Also on Tuesday, a Murray weedeater was reported stolen from the carport of a house on Bruce Lane, and a burglary was reported at the storage units at 3112 Edgar Brown Drive.
Orange police are investigating the reported sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl. Police said the suspect is a man known by the family.
