A call about a possible intoxicated customer in Walgreen’s Thursday evening led Orange police to find a stolen pickup truck. A 59-year-old Lake Charles man was arrested.
A patrol officer reported the store on 16th Street called police at 7:45 p.m. because of the man acting intoxicated. The man left the store and tried to get in a pickup truck before police arrived, but an off-duty officer with the Texas Alcoholic Commission blocked the man.
Police said the man had glassy eyes, was sweating profusely, and was unsteady. A computer search on the registration of the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado showed it had been stolen on August 15 in Calcasieu Parish.
A review of the store parking lot surveillance showed the pickup driving into the parking lot about 7 p.m. and a man getting out and walking.
Police said 59-year-old Ricky Lee Edwards was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
