The Orange Police are investigating a report of a stolen vehicle from Wednesday. Officer Michael Roush was dispatched to 2314 Sixth Street Wednesday at 10:50 PM where he contacted Margarito Beltran Canuto. Roush was told by Canuto that around 10:30 an unknown suspect took his Nissan Pathfinder which was at the residence. Canuto said he did want to file a stolen vehicle report. Thursday morning, a passerby noticed the roof of a vehicle sticking out of the bayou off of Simmons Drive. Guilbeau’s Wrecker assisted with the vehicle, which turned out to belong to Canuto. No one was in the car and all of the windows were rolled down.

A disturbance Wednesday night shortly after eight o’clock had police officers dispatched to 2717 Enner Road. Officer Roush arrived at the address at 8:26 PM. He made contact with a woman at the residence who advised Roush that she had been assaulted by a known suspect. She informed the officer that the suspect had left the residence. She continued to say that she did not want to press criminal charges on the known suspect. Roush provided her with a Family Violence Notification form.
Earlier on Wednesday night Officer McLean responded to a call of a theft. A white juvenile at 508 Crepe Myrtle told Roush that at about 5:30 PM he was playing with friends in the 400 block of Azalea when someone took an item of his he left on the street. The juvenile saw an unknown suspect pick up the property and run away. Office McLean spoke to the juvenile’s father Paul Hoggatt later by cell phone. Hoggatt advised the stolen property actually belonged to him and he wished to pursue charges for the theft.
