An Orange County grand jury this week indicted 26-year-old Yovahnis Roque for capital murder in connection with bludgeoning his 2-year-old daughter to death with a hammer in February.
He has been in the Orange County Jail since his arrest the day of the murder. He had previously been charged with capital murder with a $2 million bond set by State District Judge Courtney Arkeen.
Capital murder carries the death penalty if a jury answers ‘yes’ to a set of questions. Another punishment is life in prison.
