A 53-year-old man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for the 2016 stabbing death of another man.
128th State District Judge Courtney Arkeen Friday gave the punishment to Felix Guillory. A jury last month found him guilty of killing 39-year-old Shane Austin Cooper in March 2016.
Cooper’s body was found about 2:30 in the morning lying in the roadway of North Street in the Brownwood neighborhood. Neighbors had called police after hearing a fight outside.
Cooper had been stabbed numerous times with a small knife.
Guillory was arrested in November 2017 after Orange police received DNA testing results that linked him to the murder.
