Two men were robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning at a hotel on Highway 62 off Interstate 10. Orange police were called to the Studio 6 hotel at 1:20 a.m.

Orange Detective Captain Robert Enmon said two men were staying in a room at the hotel and two other men arrived to give them a ride to Louisiana. But instead of getting a ride, the men in the room were robbed of a Play Station and iPhones. Police later found one of the iPhones discarded along the roadway.

Two residential burglaries and a theft from a vehicle were reported during the weekend. Police went to a house on Knotty Pine Lane about 9 a.m. Saturday. A nail gun, sports equipment, and tools had been stolen.

Officers went to the apartments at 3333 Ridgemont Drive about 1:20 a.m. Sunday. Two TVs and a Blue Ray device were taken. Enmon said the front door was forced open.

The theft from a vehicle was reported about 7:20 p.m. Sunday in the 3000 block of Enner Road.

Police stopped a shoplifter from getting a clean getaway. A man arrested at the CVS store on 16th Street Friday morning was found with Lysol, Mr. Clean and Fabuloso products stuffed in his clothes.

Officer D.A. Slaughter reported store personnel called police about 11 a.m. and said a man had taken items and walked down Barkins. When Slaughter arrived, the man was back inside the store.

The officer reported the man denied having any items from the store, even though the officer could see a yellow Lysol can in the man’s pocket.

After police dispatch checked on the man, they learned he had a felony theft warrant issued in Houston. 53-year-old Alfonse Larkin of Houston was arrested on the felony warrant and also faces misdemeanor theft charges from the store.
