The Orange Police Department has found and seized three debit-credit card skimmers from gas pumps in the past two days. Another was found on a convenience store pump last week.
Detective Captain Robert Enmon said all the skimmers have been inside the gas pumps and out of public view.
He said earlier this week that some skimmers fit like an envelope over the exterior slip for the card. People who look closely can see that type of skimmer appears different. However, the skimmers inside a gas pump cannot be seen.
Enmon advises people to check their bank and credit card accounts daily to determine if fraudulent charges have been made. If anyone discovers fraudulent charges, they should contact the bank or credit company and file a complaint with their local law enforcement agency.
