Bridge City received some good news Monday from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) according to City Manager Jerry Jones. The letter from the state agency giving permission to proceed with installing filters in the water wells was received by Bridge City. The better news of no more brown water will still be a few more months. Jones informs that Napco which will add the appropriate chemicals to the filters still needs to do that, and it may be awhile because of the holiday season now through December. Jones concludes it may be the first of next year before the filters are actually put into service. Bridge City had been waiting two months for permission from the TCEQ to have the water filters installed.
